Hine Titama (Maiden of the Dawn) The wife of Tane. She fled our world and laid down the path of man to Rarohenga (the underworld) where she became Hine-Nui-Te-Po (Great Lady of the Night). While often portrayed as the dreaded goddess of the underworld, she is also seen as the beautiful maiden fleeing her past. Imbured with love for her offspring she guides and protects the spirits on theri final journey to Rarohenga.
