The Merino Story
Merino wool fibre is measured in microns, ranging from 13-24 micron. Compare this with the average piece of human hair which is 60 micron and you begin to realise just how fine Merino wool is. Merino wool is a natural renewable fibre and leaves a very light footprint on the planet.
Merino wool gives no unpleasant, 'clammy' sensation and Merino wool garments can be worn in warm or cool weather, unlike synthetic fibres that do not have this ability. Garments made from New Zealand Merino require little to no ironing which makes them ideal for travelling, as well as being self extinguishing therefore making it one of the safest fibre to have next to your body.
Pure Merino Wool is combined with New Zealand Possum fur to produce a luxurious fibre softer and warmer than any fibre previously and has superior washing and wear resistance.
The New Zealand Possum is a pest in New Zealand that was introduced from Australia in the 1800's and pose a serious threat to the environment, native birds, and agriculture. The possums are harvested humanely, and the purchase of a Possum product is actually assisting the restoration of the New Zealand environment.
